What Your Car Mechanic Wants You to Know
As a mobile mechanic, I’ve seen a lot of cars that developed issues due to owner neglect and human error (and sometimes a combination of both). Because of this, I’ve decided to create a guide that will help car owners learn more about maintaining their vehicle and making it last longer. Read on and find out how to provide your vehicle with the right level of care.
Yearly servicing isn’t a waste of time and money.
Many people believe that annual servicing is a scam and that mechanics use it to earn more money. However, this isn’t really true! If you schedule annual physical exams with your doctor, and if you hire roofers to inspect your roof every year, why shouldn’t you give your car the same level of attention?
Yearly servicing is important since lets you ensure that each nook and cranny of your car will be properly inspected and that any mechanical or electrical issue will be fixed ASAP. This, in turn, gives you the assurance that you’ll avoid complicated vehicle problems, which can disrupt your commute and even leave you stranded in the middle of the road.
Basic car maintenance is a must.
Just because you’ve scheduled annual servicing doesn’t mean that you can ignore your car for the rest of the year! You should still tackle daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks to make sure that your vehicle is always in excellent condition. These tasks include checking the levels of your engine oil and other vehicle fluids and testing your tires’ air pressure and adding more air if needed. Don’t forget to check your tires’ tread depth and remove corrosion from your car battery terminals!
Remember these tips to extend the lifespan of your car!
